In keeping with my posting about once a month, here is a new post. I know I have written this before, but I used to find energy in posting each day. Now, not so much. I started writing an outline for a book, but can't get any momentum on that, either. But, one of these days...
As I look back on the last month, I struggle to recall anything that happened that is worth writing about. The world remains in a sort of suspended animation. My golf buds and I play golf each week, and I have dinner about once a month with some friends, but there is a strange feel about things...the masks, the reduction in tables in restaurants, the paper menus. Hopefully we will get back to a new normal soon. It looks like we won't be fishing in Canada again this year since the border will probably not open until late 2021.
The job search remains stuck in park. I really don't mind that; I have not applied to a job, nor had an interview for a job that I would be remotely interested in. Is it me??? (probably).
My diet is going pretty well. Since Christmas, I have eaten so much chocolate. My favorite holidays are the day after the holiday when the candy is half off. After Christmas, I bought pounds of peppermint bark. After valentines day, I bought pounds of dark chocolate with caramel, and after Easter I bought bags of Cadbury mini eggs. So, after 2 weeks of no chocolate or beer or wine, I have made some progress. Like tossing a deck chair off an ocean liner. Maybe next month I will have some progress to report. I saw a story today that one of the winners of the biggest loser weighed 190 after the show, and now weighs 350. That would be soul crushing. But, maybe he was happier as a fat guy.
I get the second vaccine on Monday, so I will be certified safe. I wonder how long this mask charade is going to last. I had a physical awhile back and was in pretty good shape, except for blood pressure, so now taking a pill for that and it seems to be at an acceptable level now.
The academy awards are Sunday. I saw 2 of the best picture nominees, and I would bet Nomadland will win. My son and I saw that, and The Sound of Metal, which was also very good.
so, that is it. Time for another can of club soda. I will pretend it's beer.
