December 24...Christmas Eve

Went to a friends party Friday and had a good time.  Much fun (too much) fun was had by all.  I was pretry wiped out yesterday - I am not used to playing cards until 3 am.
My friend has sons that work in his company - very nice men.  There was a friend there that I have known awhile..nice to get together with business aquaintences outside of business, then we can party (or play bags or cards) as friends.  tis the season....

got to the health club for a steam and shower.  My brother and I put a pork shoulder in the smoker last night at 5, and took it off at 8 am this morning...should be good for the party today.  but first its the bears game against an 0-14 browns team. and yet we will watch.  because that is what we do.

Christmas Eve tends to be a bit more significant from a party/family gathering standpoint that Christmas itself.  My situation is a bit different this year...someday I will write more of it...but suffice to say was made unnecessarily more difficult than it needed to be.  so - on Tuesday it will be the day after Christmas, and we can all return to our non-holiday mode.

everyone have a lovely Christmas eve with family, friends...or just by yourself...whatever suits you.

And to my friend making a trip on Tuesday to see his brother, vaya con Dios, my friend.

 Christmas Eve Eve.  It's hard to believe 2020 is drawing to a close, although since the lockdown in March, calendar dates have become meaningless.   But, it is Christmas week, and all the regular hosts on the radio and on Fox News are on vacation.  For the working folks, the holidays fall on Thursday and Friday, so that is good for them, assuming they are off.   I got 6 Christmas cards this year, and appreciated them; it's always nice to be thought of.  And of those 6 cards, 4 featured a picture of the family dog.  Being a dog person, I like that.   Looking back, it was 2 yrs ago that I had the radiation procedure for prostate cancer.  Then I went to Florida in January.  Time does fly.  I have been back from Florida for 15 months.  The lockdown has lasted over 9 months...when you look at it, you realize time really is fleeting, so enjoy each day even if you spend it watching bad movies.  speaking of which.....

Another 2 weeks passed and I did not post.  I didn't do much, other than sit at a keyboard sending resumes that will not be read.  I had a few phone interviews, but nothing to be encouraged about. Heading to Chicago Saturday.  Will be nice to see the kids, and my granddaughter.  Play golf with the golf buds.  Catch up with some friends, then head to Canada Friday morning (if 2:30 am qualifies as morning).  Me, Kevin, Fred and Greg have been doing this a long time, and it is a very enjoyable journey, from the drive there, the party the night we we get there, the week of fishing, and the drive home.  Seems like only yesterday we were booking the trip at the All Canada show in January.  That was just a few weeks after I had surgery, and I remember being so fatigued walking around the show.  But that was then.  it's a new day. so - If I don't post before I leave Florida, I will catch up soon.  godspeed.

I wrote the post below yesterday, then put it back in draft status.  A guy at work told me that some notes you need to write, then save for a day before you send.  this was kind of the same thing.  but there is nothing malicious in the post - just an opinion that i need to move on from my current job.  I have nor malice - my job pays the bills and gives me an opportunity to do something I am good at.  but, either it is me, or the job, but the mutual attraction is no longer there.  there are worse things to be opinionated about.  anyway, the post follows: Another few days passed with no post.  the insanity at work continues, and has gone beyond what I can reasonably care about.  companies talk about their busy time, and then expect everyone to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to get through their "busy time" which is code words for the time they make a lot of money, but don't share it.  so, this busy time has led me to acknow...
