Dec 25 - 2nd post

I had a nice day with my brother's family.  Great food, great conversation, great family.  Tonight we watched Home Alone.  There was a part where Kevin is walking home after talking to Santa and he sees from the sidewalk a family party going on in a house...Everyone happy and festive.  Kevin has a look of someone that is left out.  I know what he must've felt like in that scene.  But, I had family that invited me in for the holidays, and friends that offered an invite. 

While I could criticize the circumstances that led me here, and the vindictive attitude, I will not.  Instead, I will focus on those who offered me a nice holiday...a nice place to stay...a great party...a nice bottle of spirits...a chat about the book I am writing. 

Maybe this was my way to rediscover the Christmas spirit.  Not sure if i did.  I do know my opinions of some folks are now pretty set.  As I suppose their opinions of me are as well. so be it. Glad for an end to a nice Christmas (in some respects), and a really shitty Christmas (in some respects).  Bring on 2018.  I am done with 2017

Another 2 weeks passed and I did not post.  I didn't do much, other than sit at a keyboard sending resumes that will not be read.  I had a few phone interviews, but nothing to be encouraged about. Heading to Chicago Saturday.  Will be nice to see the kids, and my granddaughter.  Play golf with the golf buds.  Catch up with some friends, then head to Canada Friday morning (if 2:30 am qualifies as morning).  Me, Kevin, Fred and Greg have been doing this a long time, and it is a very enjoyable journey, from the drive there, the party the night we we get there, the week of fishing, and the drive home.  Seems like only yesterday we were booking the trip at the All Canada show in January.  That was just a few weeks after I had surgery, and I remember being so fatigued walking around the show.  But that was then.  it's a new day. so - If I don't post before I leave Florida, I will catch up soon.  godspeed.

I missed a few days of posting.  and life goes on...the debate on the deficit....the mess in Illinois....the economy in freefall....the price of gas. speaking of which, check out this story.  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2018827/Petrol-prices-hit-record-high-BP-makes-profit-3bn-just-3-months.html Infuriating.  with significantly less output, BP has posted record profits.  and we are paying record prices for gas.  they mention the loss last year due to the cost of the cleanup of the gulf oil spill...so they come here, shit all over our pristine fishing grounds and we let them ass rape us on the price of gas. and of  course, we, as Americans, get to pay the excessive taxes that fund the military that keeps the flow of oil going so the oil can be refined and sold to us at a huge profit and BP can make record profits by refining and selling less.  really a good situation for them, isn't it?  at least our deficit problems have all be...

 Christmas Eve Eve.  It's hard to believe 2020 is drawing to a close, although since the lockdown in March, calendar dates have become meaningless.   But, it is Christmas week, and all the regular hosts on the radio and on Fox News are on vacation.  For the working folks, the holidays fall on Thursday and Friday, so that is good for them, assuming they are off.   I got 6 Christmas cards this year, and appreciated them; it's always nice to be thought of.  And of those 6 cards, 4 featured a picture of the family dog.  Being a dog person, I like that.   Looking back, it was 2 yrs ago that I had the radiation procedure for prostate cancer.  Then I went to Florida in January.  Time does fly.  I have been back from Florida for 15 months.  The lockdown has lasted over 9 months...when you look at it, you realize time really is fleeting, so enjoy each day even if you spend it watching bad movies.  speaking of which.....
