weekends go by way too fast. and I did pretty much nothing all weekend. which made it a good weekend.
the govt shutdown continues. the web is full of stories about the draconian measures the fed is taking to inflict pain on those who have funded the govt, and who have done their share to build this county. but, our parasites need health care, and so the rest of us need to pay for it.
can you in your wildest dreams have predicted the country would be in the dumpster that it is? we have no one to blame but ourselves.
on another subject, i was watching a football game this weekend, and saw a commercial featuring the skeletal Tim McGraw, who is married to the equally skeletal Faith Hill. the essence of the commercial was don't text and drive, which makes sense. but, had that commercial aired when we were in our teens (of course, texting was not to be for decades), the message would have been:
"don't text and drive - you might spill your beer"
things have really changed, haven't they?
