Supposed to be a scorcher today - high 90s.  I asked for it...

the story says the US is underfunded on its financial obligations to the tune of $534,000 per household....Wow.  I liken this to those morbidly obese people you see on the Biggest Loser - they weigh 500 lbs, and one would think they would do something about their weight problem when they hit 300, or certainly 350, or perhaps 400 lbs....but no.  How did we get in debt to the tune of over a half mil per household?  Giving billions to the banks to pass out as bonuses.....given billions to countries that hate us.....giving billins in aid to CHINA  (that is so sad but true).  And that is just the federal component.  Remember, the amout of pension debt alone for each household of saps in Illinois (the most poorly run state in the country) is $28 grand.
I can't even comprehend those numbers....other than that is a lot of money I owe that will never benefit me.

we are swirlin just a little lower in the toilet each day....it won't be long now.....

finally Friday. due to the overwhelming success of my Ghost Moose story (in my own mind), here is a parable entitled: THE WOLVES In a nice town where wolves were not indigenous, a wolf showed up...then another wolf....then many wolves.  The townspeople asked the government to help them get rid of the wolves...the government said "no - we will set out food for the wolves, and make them places to live".  the townspeople said "but we don't want wolves around here.  they take up space that we townspeople built, and we cannot go there because it is unsafe due to the wolves.  the wolves have gotten into our schools, and our kids cannot learn at the right pace because the teachers are too busy dealing with problems caused by the wolves.  we do not want wolves around, so please stop feeding them and making places for them to live."  The government said no - wolves are ok, and we even want them to vote in your elections.  Get used to the wolves, they ain'...

Will winter never end?  This weather sucks - can't do anything outside.  and, looking at the pics I post, you know I love to be outside. so, Gov. Fudd   Quinn has come up with yet another bit of geniusness....giving a tax break to families with kids.  http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/pat-quinn-taxes-state-illinois-speech-families-20120128 at a time with a bottomless pit of a budget deficit, and handing out tax breaks to every corporation threatening to leave Illinois, we are cutting more taxes to a special group...now, just who do you suppose will be asked to make up the difference?  and, of course, when the TEMPORARY income tax increase expires, what then. How ya coming on fixing the pension mess, Einstein??? Gov. Quinn:  please tell us your IQ.  If the question confuses you , please make a confused face and answer with your fingers. Does anyone miss the obligatory outdoors pic?

All who now pay tax hand over 5 percent of their income. The union envisions high-earners paying a lot more. "We need to look at a progressive amendment to the constitution that will allow the state to tax the rich, make the wealthy pay their fair share for the first time," AFSCME spokesperson Anders Lindall said.
