I last posted on Wednesday..5 days ago.  It is scary how quickly 5 days passes by.  Being unemployed, I always think I should have done more in those 5 days....but really, what can I do that I am not doing?  and so, the goal is enjoy each day.  I am living the life of a lottery winner, except for not having any money.

Thanksgiving week...nothing gets done this week, if memory serves from the days when I had a job.  actually if you think of it, there are scores of people in jobs that really don't do anything any week of the year.  I would imagine you know a few.

and...weather looking good for golf on Friday.  This will probably be it.  until I move to Florida in January.  Then I can golf in the winter.

3 weeks from tomorrow for the cancer eradication procedure.  Ready to get that done and move on.  The nurse told me that most guys that have the procedure golf better afterwards.  Then she looked at me and said she was just kidding.  As if I was a dullard and would not have known that was a joke. Do I look like I would believe that?  (don't answer, please)

update...I just noticed this is post #1111.  This is significant if your lucky number is 1.  or 11.  or 111.  or 1111

Will winter never end?  This weather sucks - can't do anything outside.  and, looking at the pics I post, you know I love to be outside. so, Gov. Fudd   Quinn has come up with yet another bit of geniusness....giving a tax break to families with kids.  http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/pat-quinn-taxes-state-illinois-speech-families-20120128 at a time with a bottomless pit of a budget deficit, and handing out tax breaks to every corporation threatening to leave Illinois, we are cutting more taxes to a special group...now, just who do you suppose will be asked to make up the difference?  and, of course, when the TEMPORARY income tax increase expires, what then. How ya coming on fixing the pension mess, Einstein??? Gov. Quinn:  please tell us your IQ.  If the question confuses you , please make a confused face and answer with your fingers. Does anyone miss the obligatory outdoors pic?

finally Friday. due to the overwhelming success of my Ghost Moose story (in my own mind), here is a parable entitled: THE WOLVES In a nice town where wolves were not indigenous, a wolf showed up...then another wolf....then many wolves.  The townspeople asked the government to help them get rid of the wolves...the government said "no - we will set out food for the wolves, and make them places to live".  the townspeople said "but we don't want wolves around here.  they take up space that we townspeople built, and we cannot go there because it is unsafe due to the wolves.  the wolves have gotten into our schools, and our kids cannot learn at the right pace because the teachers are too busy dealing with problems caused by the wolves.  we do not want wolves around, so please stop feeding them and making places for them to live."  The government said no - wolves are ok, and we even want them to vote in your elections.  Get used to the wolves, they ain't goin

Not much left in 2011...and each day we are a bit closer to spring... The toilet that is Illinois will be enacting over 200 new laws at the start of 2012. http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/new-year-comes-with-more-than-200-new-illinois-laws-2012-20111228 In these laws, I cannot find: - a law limiting pension abuse, and illegal enrichment - a law limiting the public's exposure to pension debt - a law prohibiting insider deals from  politicians - a law prohibiting municipalities from selling assets that have been paid for by citizens - a law prohibiting illigal aliens from parasitically consuming resources paid for by legal residents the list could go on forever.  these 200 new laws are largely to keep the middle class in line so the rich can continue to be richer. and if you throw out your compter, prepare to be fined. Illinois - what a shithole.
