Beautiful fall day...but so many leaves now on the ground. Soon bare trees and the snow will start.
I had a thought about the mysterious ways God works...hear me out....
In June, I got word my job would end in August
I immediately scheduled knee surgery since my knee was killing me and making it tough to golf
I had the pre surgery physical, and it was a go, but was told to see a urologist
I had the knee surgery and happily golfed since July, merrily prancing around the course like a fat 59 yr old dude without a care in the world, except where is the beer cart..
I went back to the doctor to get a referral for a neck problem. She told me to also see a urologist. as did a very good friend of mine.
I went to the urologist for a prostate exam (eek) and blood test
I was told to have a prostate biopsy which I did
The biopsy showed early signs of cancer which I will have taken care of.
if the job didn't end, I would not have had my knee fixed...I would have limped and complained.
If the blood test did not come back as needing more tests, my friend would not have told me to have it looked at.
and had I not had the exam, the cancer could have spread.
the urologist said 2 yrs might have been a problem. but none of that matters because the stars lined up this one time.
so.....it sucks to be looking for a job at 60 yrs old, but would be worse to be shopping for a casket and a suit to wear while I was laying in it. I would have gone with the really wide pinstripes.
and I am playing golf tomorrow, so there, bitches.
so, to use my trite saying, today was the best day of my life by a factor of 1000. but tomorrow will certainly be better.
