the other day I mentioned a commercial about a girl that was way too into her tablet.  Actually, at some point, I would imagine an intervention is going to be neceessary to bring this young lady back to the flock with the rest of us.  anyway, here is a link to the commercial (it would not copy and paste as a link, so you have to paste it on the search bar.  Watching it is required to continue reading this post).

so, here is my suggested change to the commercial:   At the end of the commercial, the neighbor comes outside while the girl is laying in her postage stamp sized back yard, typing on the tablet (she has been typing on the tablet for the entire commercial).

The neighbor says "hey, what are you doing on your computer?".

and the girl, obviously bothered at the interruption, answers "hey, I am reading my favorite blog, Idlebusinessman.  This guy is the shit"

largely on the strength of the curly haired tablet addict, I become a cultural icon and a voice for disillusioned youth everwhere. Tree limbs everywhere are full of kids on their tablets, reading my blog.  I become a regular on Fox News and on the View. Tomi Lahren is photographed wearing a tshirt with my picture on it.

think about it.  makes for a much better message, I believe.  It's the most likely outcome.

 Christmas Eve Eve.  It's hard to believe 2020 is drawing to a close, although since the lockdown in March, calendar dates have become meaningless.   But, it is Christmas week, and all the regular hosts on the radio and on Fox News are on vacation.  For the working folks, the holidays fall on Thursday and Friday, so that is good for them, assuming they are off.   I got 6 Christmas cards this year, and appreciated them; it's always nice to be thought of.  And of those 6 cards, 4 featured a picture of the family dog.  Being a dog person, I like that.   Looking back, it was 2 yrs ago that I had the radiation procedure for prostate cancer.  Then I went to Florida in January.  Time does fly.  I have been back from Florida for 15 months.  The lockdown has lasted over 9 months...when you look at it, you realize time really is fleeting, so enjoy each day even if you spend it watching bad movies.  speaking of which.....

Another 2 weeks passed and I did not post.  I didn't do much, other than sit at a keyboard sending resumes that will not be read.  I had a few phone interviews, but nothing to be encouraged about. Heading to Chicago Saturday.  Will be nice to see the kids, and my granddaughter.  Play golf with the golf buds.  Catch up with some friends, then head to Canada Friday morning (if 2:30 am qualifies as morning).  Me, Kevin, Fred and Greg have been doing this a long time, and it is a very enjoyable journey, from the drive there, the party the night we we get there, the week of fishing, and the drive home.  Seems like only yesterday we were booking the trip at the All Canada show in January.  That was just a few weeks after I had surgery, and I remember being so fatigued walking around the show.  But that was then.  it's a new day. so - If I don't post before I leave Florida, I will catch up soon.  godspeed.

I wrote the post below yesterday, then put it back in draft status.  A guy at work told me that some notes you need to write, then save for a day before you send.  this was kind of the same thing.  but there is nothing malicious in the post - just an opinion that i need to move on from my current job.  I have nor malice - my job pays the bills and gives me an opportunity to do something I am good at.  but, either it is me, or the job, but the mutual attraction is no longer there.  there are worse things to be opinionated about.  anyway, the post follows: Another few days passed with no post.  the insanity at work continues, and has gone beyond what I can reasonably care about.  companies talk about their busy time, and then expect everyone to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to get through their "busy time" which is code words for the time they make a lot of money, but don't share it.  so, this busy time has led me to acknow...
