we're in the home stretch of March.  just feels like January.  and I am off this week and can enjoy this shit weather.  but, good to be off.  maybe I will clean out the garage.  I was at the heath club at 7 am today, so that is a start.  didn't do much when I was there, but I was there. 

if you haven't seen "Alone in the Wilderness" I highly recommed it.  a guy that spent years alone in the wilderness, dropped trees, made logs, built a cabin, and lived up in Alaska for decades.  watch it - it is a fascinating film.

so on Saturday, I was going to use 8 landscape timbers I had, cut 2 in half (with a power saw) and make a planter box, just in case it ever warms up I can plant the pumpkin seeds to be dug up by squirrels.  but anyway, after cutting 2 timbers, drilling a few holes, and screwing the now 8 pieces of wood together, I was ready to take a break.  watch the film and see what this guy gets done. 

anyway, day one of vacation.  8:27 am.  what to do?  can't golf, ride my bike or anything outside.  maybe do nothing.  as a wise man wrote a few weeks ago, "WHY TRY?"

Will winter never end?  This weather sucks - can't do anything outside.  and, looking at the pics I post, you know I love to be outside. so, Gov. How ya coming on fixing the pension mess, Einstein??? Gov. Quinn:  please tell us your IQ.  If the question confuses you , please make a confused face and answer with your fingers. Does anyone miss the obligatory outdoors pic?

finally Friday. due to the overwhelming success of my Ghost Moose story (in my own mind), here is a parable entitled: THE WOLVES In a nice town where wolves were not indigenous, a wolf showed up...then another wolf....then many wolves.  The townspeople asked the government to help them get rid of the wolves...the government said "no - we will set out food for the wolves, and make them places to live".  the townspeople said "but we don't want wolves around here.  they take up space that we townspeople built, and we cannot go there because it is unsafe due to the wolves.  the wolves have gotten into our schools, and our kids cannot learn at the right pace because the teachers are too busy dealing with problems caused by the wolves.  we do not want wolves around, so please stop feeding them and making places for them to live."  The government said no - wolves are ok, and we even want them to vote in your elections.  Get used to the wolves, they ain't goin

Not much left in 2011...and each day we are a bit closer to spring... The toilet that is Illinois will be enacting over 200 new laws at the start of 2012. http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/new-year-comes-with-more-than-200-new-illinois-laws-2012-20111228 In these laws, I cannot find: - a law limiting pension abuse, and illegal enrichment - a law limiting the public's exposure to pension debt - a law prohibiting insider deals from  politicians - a law prohibiting municipalities from selling assets that have been paid for by citizens - a law prohibiting illigal aliens from parasitically consuming resources paid for by legal residents the list could go on forever.  these 200 new laws are largely to keep the middle class in line so the rich can continue to be richer. and if you throw out your compter, prepare to be fined. Illinois - what a shithole.
