Thanksgiving week.  I have been off work twice - in 2002 and again in 2008.  I have this dark memory both times of sending resumes out on Thanksgiving morning....knowing full well that no one would be looking at time for a week if at all....the memories you can't shake....I am sure there are a lot of folks that will be doing that on Thursday.

Played one last round of golf on Saturday, and put the sticks away.  it will be a long winter without the bi-weekly round of golf.  my game sucked, but it was always nice to get out and walk.  now is when you start thinking about where you could live to play more than just 6 months a year.

Illinois - what a shithole.

Was funny to see Emanuel subbing for Obama in Iowa, and making jokes about the republican field.  One can only hope a repub will follow suit and make some jokes at Obama's expense....here are some I have written:

"did someone say illegal immigrant aunt???  or was it illegal drunken uncle????  or was it both???is this mike working???
Michelle said this is the first time she was proud of her country....she said that as she surpassed the million mile frequent flier club.....she traveled more than George Clooney in Up in the Air...
Barack has been busy, but his work is not done yet...there are still some people with jobs and some not yet on welfare.  he needs to cut more jobs and add more welfare recipients....Solyndra...wtf???  the mistake that all candidates make is to have any kind of record at all...the way to win this is seal all your records and have no record to be held against you..."

pretty lame...but it is early Monday.

Will winter never end?  This weather sucks - can't do anything outside.  and, looking at the pics I post, you know I love to be outside. so, Gov. How ya coming on fixing the pension mess, Einstein??? Gov. Quinn:  please tell us your IQ.  If the question confuses you , please make a confused face and answer with your fingers. finally Friday. due to the overwhelming success of my Ghost Moose story (in my own mind), here is a parable entitled: THE WOLVES In a nice town where wolves were not indigenous, a wolf showed up...then another wolf....then many wolves.  The townspeople asked the government to help them get rid of the wolves...the government said "no - we will set out food for the wolves, and make them places to live".  the townspeople said "but we don't want wolves around here.  they take up space that we townspeople built, and we cannot go there because it is unsafe due to the wolves.  the wolves have gotten into our schools, and our kids cannot learn at the right pace because the teachers are too busy dealing with problems caused by the wolves.  we do not want wolves around, so please stop feeding them and making places for them to live."  The government said no - wolves are ok, and we even want them to vote in your elections.  Get used to the wolves, they ain't goin

Not much left in 2011...and each day we are a bit closer to spring... The toilet that is Illinois will be enacting over 200 new laws at the start of 2012. http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/new-year-comes-with-more-than-200-new-illinois-laws-2012-20111228 In these laws, I cannot find: - a law limiting pension abuse, and illegal enrichment - a law limiting the public's exposure to pension debt - a law prohibiting insider deals from  politicians - a law prohibiting municipalities from selling assets that have been paid for by citizens - a law prohibiting illigal aliens from parasitically consuming resources paid for by legal residents the list could go on forever.  these 200 new laws are largely to keep the middle class in line so the rich can continue to be richer. and if you throw out your compter, prepare to be fined. Illinois - what a shithole.
