We are still having beautiful weather, so being off is not the worst thing.  I try to get outside as much as I can.  Hopefully before too long I will be cooped up at a job.  But I can't hire myself, so I have to be patient.  Which is tough since I am not a patient person. 

Playing golf on Sunday which will be nice.  My friend is taking up golf and we have been playing at a par 3 course.  The other day he had a birdie and par on consecutive holes....and I told him no fair; I should be the one getting good scores.  but, as Butthead said, you can't polish a turd. 

I went to the health club earlier than normal today, and didn't do that much.  I am having lunch with a friend, and may go back to the club this afternoon.  or perhaps get my bike out and take a ride. 

watching the news and the coverage of the hurricane.  That would be awful - no defense against the wind and water.  Yet another reason to be thankful to be here in the dump that is Illinois. 

oh...and I am paying for Cobra.  I went to pick up my prescription.  and of course the coverage hadn't been activated yet.  They said to pay and submit for reimbursement.  No thanks...I will wait.

and with that, I wish you a good afternoon.  when my phone doesn't ring I will know it is a recruiter not calling.

Will winter never end?  This weather sucks - can't do anything outside.  and, looking at the pics I post, you know I love to be outside. so, Gov. How ya coming on fixing the pension mess, Einstein??? Gov. Quinn:  please tell us your IQ.  If the question confuses you , please make a confused face and answer with your fingers. Does anyone miss the obligatory outdoors pic?

finally Friday. due to the overwhelming success of my Ghost Moose story (in my own mind), here is a parable entitled: THE WOLVES In a nice town where wolves were not indigenous, a wolf showed up...then another wolf....then many wolves.  The townspeople asked the government to help them get rid of the wolves...the government said "no - we will set out food for the wolves, and make them places to live".  the townspeople said "but we don't want wolves around here.  they take up space that we townspeople built, and we cannot go there because it is unsafe due to the wolves.  the wolves have gotten into our schools, and our kids cannot learn at the right pace because the teachers are too busy dealing with problems caused by the wolves.  we do not want wolves around, so please stop feeding them and making places for them to live."  The government said no - wolves are ok, and we even want them to vote in your elections.  Get used to the wolves, they ain't goin

Not much left in 2011...and each day we are a bit closer to spring... The toilet that is Illinois will be enacting over 200 new laws at the start of 2012. http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/new-year-comes-with-more-than-200-new-illinois-laws-2012-20111228 In these laws, I cannot find: - a law limiting pension abuse, and illegal enrichment - a law limiting the public's exposure to pension debt - a law prohibiting insider deals from  politicians - a law prohibiting municipalities from selling assets that have been paid for by citizens - a law prohibiting illigal aliens from parasitically consuming resources paid for by legal residents the list could go on forever.  these 200 new laws are largely to keep the middle class in line so the rich can continue to be richer. and if you throw out your compter, prepare to be fined. Illinois - what a shithole.
