A nice sunndy day, but still too cold to do anything outside.  But today is day 1 of the time change, so will get dark around 7 o'clock, so that is a step in the right direction.  I hit golf balls this morning at the golf dome with my college roomate/golf bud/fishing bud and we counted 18 weeks from Friday until we hit the road for Canada.  It's nice to have a yearly tradition like that, but it makes the year go by too fast.  When I was younger I couldn't wait to go fishing.  Now I don't want that week to get here so quickly because when we get back the summer is about over.  As much as I like fall, that is how much I don't like winter.  But, it happens every year.

Yesterday I was going to the health club.  I got the parking spot that was the closest spot to the entrance to the club...It felt like an accomplishment; to get the prime spot in the lot.  When if fact I should be parking at the other end of the lot so I get more steps in.  But, for one shining day, it was my car in the prime spot....so, I can cross that off my bucket list.  Skydiving is still on the list, however. And I don't plan to cross that one off anytime soon.

Back to work tomorrow.  But first, I have golf and Nascar to watch today.

Will winter never end?  This weather sucks - can't do anything outside.  and, looking at the pics I post, you know I love to be outside. so, Gov. Fudd   Quinn has come up with yet another bit of geniusness....giving a tax break to families with kids.  http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/pat-quinn-taxes-state-illinois-speech-families-20120128 at a time with a bottomless pit of a budget deficit, and handing out tax breaks to every corporation threatening to leave Illinois, we are cutting more taxes to a special group...now, just who do you suppose will be asked to make up the difference?  and, of course, when the TEMPORARY income tax increase expires, what then. How ya coming on fixing the pension mess, Einstein??? Gov. Quinn:  please tell us your IQ.  If the question confuses you , please make a confused face and answer with your fingers. Does anyone miss the obligatory outdoors pic?

finally Friday. due to the overwhelming success of my Ghost Moose story (in my own mind), here is a parable entitled: THE WOLVES In a nice town where wolves were not indigenous, a wolf showed up...then another wolf....then many wolves.  The townspeople asked the government to help them get rid of the wolves...the government said "no - we will set out food for the wolves, and make them places to live".  the townspeople said "but we don't want wolves around here.  they take up space that we townspeople built, and we cannot go there because it is unsafe due to the wolves.  the wolves have gotten into our schools, and our kids cannot learn at the right pace because the teachers are too busy dealing with problems caused by the wolves.  we do not want wolves around, so please stop feeding them and making places for them to live."  The government said no - wolves are ok, and we even want them to vote in your elections.  Get used to the wolves, they ain't goin

Not much left in 2011...and each day we are a bit closer to spring... The toilet that is Illinois will be enacting over 200 new laws at the start of 2012. http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/new-year-comes-with-more-than-200-new-illinois-laws-2012-20111228 In these laws, I cannot find: - a law limiting pension abuse, and illegal enrichment - a law limiting the public's exposure to pension debt - a law prohibiting insider deals from  politicians - a law prohibiting municipalities from selling assets that have been paid for by citizens - a law prohibiting illigal aliens from parasitically consuming resources paid for by legal residents the list could go on forever.  these 200 new laws are largely to keep the middle class in line so the rich can continue to be richer. and if you throw out your compter, prepare to be fined. Illinois - what a shithole.
