It was 5 below zero when I drove to the train this morning at 6:30.  On the ride home from the train it was snowing, and traffic hardly moving.  I just took the garbage out and it is still cold and snowing at 8:30 pm.  This is the point where winter becomes intolerable.  Because we are getting winter weather, and probably have 8 weeks more of it.  We naively think of some mid winter warmup.  but no...

I go back and forth about moving somewhere warm.  from April to December the weather in Illinois is pretty good, then December to March sucks.  and that is where we are now.  Prime suckage.  Two more months and we can forget about winter for 8 months.

On the bright side, I am way ahead of last year on my golf swing.  Hitting pretty straight lately  of course when we go live I'll lose golf balls like crazy, and will pay for the privelege to do so.  I usually practice 3 times a week in the sim at work.  My friend has the room fired up for me at 8:15 every day.  It pays to know the right people. 

Working from home tomorrow due to a doctor appointment, and good thing since I think the commute will be awful. The snow tonight slowed down the train ride home.  Let me go back up and reread the second paragraph...yea...prime suckage.  and we fools choose to live here. like I said..I go back and forth....

Will winter never end?  This weather sucks - can't do anything outside.  and, looking at the pics I post, you know I love to be outside. so, Gov. How ya coming on fixing the pension mess, Einstein??? Gov. Quinn:  please tell us your IQ.  If the question confuses you , please make a confused face and answer with your fingers. Does anyone miss the obligatory outdoors pic?

finally Friday. due to the overwhelming success of my Ghost Moose story (in my own mind), here is a parable entitled: THE WOLVES In a nice town where wolves were not indigenous, a wolf showed up...then another wolf....then many wolves.  The townspeople asked the government to help them get rid of the wolves...the government said "no - we will set out food for the wolves, and make them places to live".  the townspeople said "but we don't want wolves around here.  they take up space that we townspeople built, and we cannot go there because it is unsafe due to the wolves.  the wolves have gotten into our schools, and our kids cannot learn at the right pace because the teachers are too busy dealing with problems caused by the wolves.  we do not want wolves around, so please stop feeding them and making places for them to live."  The government said no - wolves are ok, and we even want them to vote in your elections.  Get used to the wolves, they ain't goin

Not much left in 2011...and each day we are a bit closer to spring... The toilet that is Illinois will be enacting over 200 new laws at the start of 2012. http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/new-year-comes-with-more-than-200-new-illinois-laws-2012-20111228 In these laws, I cannot find: - a law limiting pension abuse, and illegal enrichment - a law limiting the public's exposure to pension debt - a law prohibiting insider deals from  politicians - a law prohibiting municipalities from selling assets that have been paid for by citizens - a law prohibiting illigal aliens from parasitically consuming resources paid for by legal residents the list could go on forever.  these 200 new laws are largely to keep the middle class in line so the rich can continue to be richer. and if you throw out your compter, prepare to be fined. Illinois - what a shithole.
