Jan 1....wow - this year is really flying by....oh wait - I can't write that until April or so.  but, 2012 did really go by quickly.  the fishing show will be next weekend, and in a heartbeat it will be August and we will be leaving for Canada.  and so it goes. 

I saw 60 people died in a stampede at a new years fireworks show in Asia.  I played it safe...and stayed home...and fell asleep at 9 o'clock.  I was taking no chances.  what an old man I have become.  but I woke up feeling aces, so that is good.  made it to the health club and it was not too crowded...the lardasses who really let themselves go will sign up this week, and the club will be mobbed for 2 or 3 weeks...then back to normal.  leaving the weight machines to me and my big biceps....and big gut. 

happy new year.  I will work on getting some original thoughts for the new year... and I will retire eacho peez. 

it will be hard to top that though.

finally Friday. due to the overwhelming success of my Ghost Moose story (in my own mind), here is a parable entitled: THE WOLVES In a nice town where wolves were not indigenous, a wolf showed up...then another wolf....then many wolves.  The townspeople asked the government to help them get rid of the wolves...the government said "no - we will set out food for the wolves, and make them places to live".  the townspeople said "but we don't want wolves around here.  they take up space that we townspeople built, and we cannot go there because it is unsafe due to the wolves.  the wolves have gotten into our schools, and our kids cannot learn at the right pace because the teachers are too busy dealing with problems caused by the wolves.  we do not want wolves around, so please stop feeding them and making places for them to live."  The government said no - wolves are ok, and we even want them to vote in your elections.  Get used to the wolves, they ain'...

Will winter never end?  This weather sucks - can't do anything outside.  and, looking at the pics I post, you know I love to be outside. so, Gov. Fudd   Quinn has come up with yet another bit of geniusness....giving a tax break to families with kids.  http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/pat-quinn-taxes-state-illinois-speech-families-20120128 at a time with a bottomless pit of a budget deficit, and handing out tax breaks to every corporation threatening to leave Illinois, we are cutting more taxes to a special group...now, just who do you suppose will be asked to make up the difference?  and, of course, when the TEMPORARY income tax increase expires, what then. How ya coming on fixing the pension mess, Einstein??? Gov. Quinn:  please tell us your IQ.  If the question confuses you , please make a confused face and answer with your fingers.
