Winter marches on - supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow. Golf season, or doing anything outdoors, seems months away. But, I guess the worst of winter is past - days are now getting longer, and the low temp of the day is not as bad as it was a month ago. I still get the updates from Careerbuilder, and the job postings are still thin. The news says there are 7 unemployed for each opening, but that sure seems low. I would imagine it is actually 70 or 700 per opening....that's what it seems like when you are looking for a job, anyway. still helping coach basketball - that makes the winter go by quicker - having something to do each weekend is nice. and gets me off the couch and out of the house. Nascar started last week, so there's something to waste time on. take care, all.

Super Bowl Sunday. The NFL season flies by so quickly every year. When that ends today, golf season will still be 2 months away. At least in Chicago. I saw an article on CNN that said job recovery will happen in 2010. Sure - like anyone can predict that. I still have colleagues getting downsized, so we are far from stabilized. I have now been at my job for almost a year, and that time has really flown by. It is so much better to be using effort at a job instead of using that effort to find a job. but I know we don't have that choice. I read the stories of the plight of job seekers, and can really relate - the lack of activity and the overall absence of any professional courtesy, the willingness to take a job only to be met with the "you are overqualified and you used to make a lot of money" logic. so, enjoy the game.
