finally Friday, and now a 3 day weekend.  but, it is the end of summer...where did it go?  although fall is the most pleasant season, the suckage it leads to is reason enough to move to a warmer climate.  plus, Illinois sucks and is in a death spiral.  and, 2013 is now 2/3 complete.  that is the real eye opener - that 2/3 of a year can go by so quickly.  I guess I must have been busy.  since my last post we have had the furor about miley cyrus performance at the vma show...the funniest article said her performance was somehow racist.  but the same author did not mention the murder of the Australian baseball player was racist.  or the murder of the WW2 vet was racist.  as long as people look for incidents for their mock indignation to be manifested, this country will continue on its road to ruin.  nary of mention of any of these things at the King march the other day.  but I can't say I am surprised.  when presented ...

I am really slipping...posting just a few times a week now.  the news stories are just more of the same.  you get numb to it - the things that pissed me off a year ago are so commonplace now, I just accept them, skip the story and move on.  that is the way it goes.  we accept the downward spiral of the country and keep being the drones we are.  go to work every day, pay our taxes.  and behave like good little drones.  no end of it in sight. I turned 55 yesterday.   it is hard to come to grips with that age.  seems like only yesterday I was 25...35...whatever.  young and carefree no more.

2 weeks ago I was sitting in a boat 1000 miles from here......seems like a lifetime ago.  is it just me, or do all jobs suck....well, the one I have is just a little worse than licking the wet rectum of a sick monkey, so that ain't too bad.  I guess we all have our tales of woe.  funny thing though....this company makes all this noise about being named one of the best places to work....but everyone I talk to hates it here.  probably because they hire assholes like me.  comes full circle.  but, to think that any company aspires to anything other than making money for the turds on top is misguided.  no matter what they say.  i think the guys that own their own companies are real dicks.  (that is for you KB - just kidding). a real sucky post, I know.  but I have not been able to post from my home computer, so I had to take a break from sending resumes from work to write this bit of geniusness. 

I had not posted since last Tuesday.  the post vacation funk hits hard.  as fun as it is to fish and be outside for a week, it is still a rude awakening to go back to what you do.  what you are sick of doing.  later this year (December) it will be 5 years that I have been writing this blog.  pretty much come full circle - the frustrations of the job search, then working and realizing that is frustrating, then just the rantings, now I guess back to the frustrations of the job search.  I do have a job, but am at the point when you realize you have to move on to something new.  easy to get stagnant when you are at the same company for 4 years.  so - onward I shall go. a job....the thing that you make money from so you can afford to go somewhere like the pic above.  this was a bay right by camp.  the lake we went to was huge.  and just the 4 of us up there.  when the plane came to pick us up they dropped off 4 guys that range...

that didn't take long.....the nice feeling you have when you come back from a good vacation is quickly gone when it is shit on by returning to the same job you left to relax from.  doesn't seem fair - 50 or so weeks of suckage for a few weeks to do what you want.  the middle class curse.  bled dry by parasites from both sides.  taxes up the ass.  and you save your pennies to get away, only to return to twice the shit you left.  we Americans...we will eat everyones shit.  and pretend we like it. oh yea - I need to write a few stories about the fishing trip.

Back to the grind.  After a week in the Canadian wilderness....what a nice vacation.  the 4 of us that went have been going fishing/camping together since 1982.  we caught a ton of fish, stayed on a really big lake.  the trip was everything it should be - mostly an opportunity to clear one's head of the accumulated frustrations that pile up over the year.  no tv, no computer, no cell phone.  just you and the outdoors.  I had the opportunity to use a compass one day.  how often does one need a compass to find your way home?  but, that was last week.  time to get back in the regular work mode.  time to start that pile of frustrations that will be offloaded in next years trip.  I suppose I could write about some of the cool experiences we had, but at 4:45 am, they just aren't leaping to mind. maybe tomorrow.
